“Made Possible by” Community Murals is a initiative in partnership with Gary Community Ventures' Childcare Storytelling Initiative, aims to highlight the impact of child care on Coloradans through various forms of content creation, journalism, data collection, and community engagement efforts like the community murals. This effort seeks to explore how child care challenges affect all residents, not just parents. The initiative aims to do that by creating compelling stories capable of engaging priority audiences frequently missed by discussions of the issues facing our child care system.
Community Murals and Storytelling
Empowered, Ltd. Consulting will be presenting two community murals in two Colorado cities: Grand Junction and Colorado Springs. Through this initiative, the murals are a part of a larger storytelling effort to illuminate how child care shapes the lives of all Coloradans—parents and non-parents alike.
We are excited to bring to life this cause through public art murals. Empowered is committed to capturing stories from community members (i.e., parents, grandparents, neighbors, childcare providers, educators, and business leaders) who will shape the creative brief for the murals based on themes from their stories. Dedicated to empowering people, organizations, and communities, Empowered will use the power of murals to shed the light on the current-day childcare challenges that families and communities are facing.
