Example Projects

  • CO Department of Education

    Built the in-person Family Liaison training in Colorado to state-certify individuals in these roles and guarantee baseline skills aligned with research and promising practices for family and community engagement. This in-person training has since been modified to an online training hosted by CDE.

  • Butterfly Pavilion

    English and Spanish focus groups to evaluate a special exhibit, understand Latinx experiences in zoos and museums, and identify strengths and growth opportunities for the Butterfly Pavilions’ relationship with racially diverse communities. This project resulted in a renewed contract to update the zoo’s DEIA plan, act on focus group findings, and operationalize DEIA

  • Colorado Business Committee for the Arts

    A robust community engagement process including targeted interviews, focus groups facilitated across the state of Colorado, and Working Group management to co-develop Colorado’s first ever Arts Policy Framework to drive advocacy and the legislative agenda for arts, culture, and creative industry. The Framework will be released in Fall of 2024. Read More.

  • Taste of Mexico

    Supported Fireside at Five as the cultural advisor for Taste of Mexico, an event to activate the Larimer Square business district. Empowered provided community connection to vendors and artists and managed the weekend’s entertainment lineup celebrating Mexican music and culture

  • Festival Garibaldi for Downtown Dynamic Denver

    Empowered acquired grant, acted as the fiscal agent and event liaison, managing the event across multiple organizations. Funds were spread across four organizations identified by Empowered as co-hosts with aligned collective impact goals. Community event included presentations of Mariachi and Folkloric Dance, food trucks, and cultural celebration
